Facebook and Twitter have agreed to hand over to the British government details of Russian interference in the Brexit vote. "That’s why I wrote to Mark Zuckerberg, asking him for Facebook to give us the information on Russian activity on their platform. They’ve given similar information to the US senate, and for our parliamentary enquiry I want that information too." And according to researchers at the University of Edinburgh, 419 IRA accounts were active around the time of the Brexit referendum, tweeting about Brexit 3,468 times. Meanwhile, City University researchers say they've identified a total of 13,500 accounts that posted pro-Brexit messages before the referendum, and disappeared from the site soon after.
