QUANTUM computing sounds so high-tech, it must surely be a product of the 21st century. To better understand what that means, we first need to look at the differences between quantum computers and traditional computers. Quantum computers use concepts from quantum physics, and as with quantum physics, quantum computing can be quite challenging to grasp. Another key principle of quantum physics that apply to quantum computing is “entanglement”, which is even harder to grasp. Still, it was a significant milestone and a proof of concept of the potential of quantum computing.
