FKF defer weekend fixtures over political tension


Football Kenya Federation have suspended all their activities earlier planned for this weekend, citing the unpredictable political and security situation being witnessed in the country. The National Super League, Division One League, women’s Premier League and women’s Division One League matches scheduled for this weekend were deferred after extensive consultations between the National Leagues and Competitions Committee and the Referees Appointment Committee. In a letter addressing the changes, FKF chief executive officer Robert Muthomi said: “The current political situation has made it impossible for most clubs to train or for officials to travel. In other matches, KCB were lined up to wrestle Administration Police as Nakuru All Stars would have hosted St Joseph Youth. Other Suspended encounters are those pitting Palos vs Vihiga, Kibera Black Stars vs Nairobi Stima, Nairobi City Stars vs Bidco United and Agrochemicals vs Modern Coast Rangers.
