Share:ISLAMABAD - A businessman named Imran Khan has lodged a complaint with Cybercrime Complaint Registration Centre (CCRC) of Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) Islamabad after receiving a threatening call from Afghanistan-based Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) terrorists who demanded extortion from him, informed sources on Monday. Director FIA CCRC Islamabad has received complaint number (V-271/22) dated 26/1/2022 and appointed Sub Inspector (SI) Basit as investigation officer tasking it to trace out the threatening calls and extortionists, sources said. According to sources, Imran Khan moved an application with CCRC, FIA stating he received a threatening call from an extortionist who had identified himself as TTP commander and demanded extortion with the threat of kidnapping him and his family if the demand was not met. The complainant further told FIA officials that the caller had his all basic information such as office and house address and car’s details. A senior officer of FIA, when contacted, confirmed the news and said that FIA is collecting phone call data of the caller to check the whereabouts of other people in contact with him or the potential targets for extortion.
