ENIOLA AKINKUOTUThe Federal Government and its agencies will spend N3.29bn on sewage, cleaning and fumigation in the 2019 fiscal year, SUNDAY PUNCH has learnt. The Ministry of Information and Culture, which supervises 19 agencies, will require N118.6m for clearing sewage and fumigation. The NIS has the highest budget for fumigation and sewage clearing, which stands at a total of N30m. The Department of State Services will spend N11.3m on clearing sewage, but nothing was budgeted for cleaning and fumigation. The Ministry of Finance headquarters budgeted N12m to clear sewage and N40m for cleaning and fumigation while the Ministry of Environment headquarters proposed N35,193,160 as sewage charges and N24.7m for cleaning and fumigation.
