(Bloomberg) — The FBI is investigating whether there was anything criminal about the death of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, the director of the Federal Bureau of Prisons said on Tuesday. “The FBI is involved and they are looking at criminal enterprise,” Hawk Sawyer said. Senator Ben Sasse, a Nebraska Republican, pressed for answers about Epstein’s death during Tuesday’s hearing, saying he should have been treated with the highest priority. While the case against Epstein ended with his death, prosecutors have been been reviewing apparent irregularities related to it. Epstein was alone in his cell at the time of his death.
