SEPANG: AirAsia X Bhd is keeping an eye on two of its main competitors — Malaysia Airlines Bhd (MAS) and Malindo Airways — as the two airlines are on an aggressive expansion plan. There’s MAS changing its strategy slightly from where (former chief executive officer) Christoph Mueller left. I think they are very low-cost minded again… what I worry is if MAS starts dumping fares again, because the market can’t afford another price war like before,” said chief executive officer Benyamin Ismail. He said Malindo Air, meanwhile, has been adding more capacity but its future plans remained unclear. There’s a lot of capacity coming from their side.
