Users of the Nile St Masonic Hall still don't have access to the building to see the extent of the damage to property. Users of the Nelson Masonic Hall are still in the dark about the cause and extent of damage done by a fire. The hall suffered significant damage after a fire began on the Nile St premises on the evening of November 4. Ten different Masonic organisations used the building, which was the only available Masonic hall in Nelson. "The Masonic lodge is the people, not the building, so the people will continue to meet in various halls around Nelson until we get back to our own premises."
