Speakers at a workshop stressed that the issue of a safe working environment in the garment sector is still relevant. ActionAid Bangladesh organised a workshop titled “Naribandhab and Safe Workers Conference” in Dhaka on Thursday. Sabina Rani, a worker who had been injured in the Tazreen fire said: “I was working on the third floor on November 24. However, the reality is that workers, especially women, can no longer be guaranteed a safe work environment.”“The suffering of the injured workers is troubling us. Their security is an important issue,” said European Union’s programme manager, Laila Jasmine Banu.
