MANILA, Philippines — A former activist is accusing transport leader George San Mateo of sexual harassment. TV5 reported that the young woman, called “Maxine,” met San Mateo in 2013 when he was president of PISTON – the Pinagkaisang Samahan ng mga Tsuper at Opereytor Nationwide – during street protests. Maxine showed text messages on her cell phone that she said were sent by San Mateo. In one of the messages, the sender asked her about the color and type of lingerie she wore. San Mateo said yesterday he will issue a statement on the allegations soon.
