Ex-NPDC executive director pleads guilty to lesser offense 0 SHARES Share it! Share TweetBy Czarina Nicole Ong-KiFormer Executive Director Carlito San Antonio Fajardo of the National Parks and Development Committee (NPDC) of Manila decided to plead guilty to a lesser offense instead of graft before the Sandiganbayan Seventh Division. The plea bargaining agreement was approved by Ombudsman Samuel Martires, so the anti-graft court granted his motion to withdraw his earlier not guilty plea and change it to guilty for the crime of Prohibited Transactions. “The Court deems the prosecution’s manifestation as sufficient to allow the withdrawal of accused’s former plea and to permit him to enter a plea of guilty to a lesser offense,” the resolution stated. He escaped a possible prison sentence and was fined by the anti-graft court with P5,000 for each count.
