Ex-Labuan JKR head slapped with two bribery charges - Nation


KOTA KINABALU: Former Labuan Public Works Department (JKR) director Ismail Che Ros (pic) claimed trial for two corruption charges totalling nearly RM8,000. Ismail, 60, who was represented by counsel Zahir Shah, was also accused of receiving RM5,000 from Teoh on Aug 6, 2016 at the resort. Teoh’s company was involved in the construction of a road - a JKR project - at Kampung Gerisik in Labuan. Sessions judge Abu Bakar Manat, who sat as Special Corruption Court judge, released Ismail on a RM10,000 bail. Ismail, who is now serving in Melaka, has to report monthly to the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) headquarters in Putrajaya.
