Events to showcase Korea's traditionSouth Korea is aiming to deepen its longstanding ties with Thailand by hosting a series of events highlighting traditional Korean culture this year, says Sunju Lee, Director of the Korean Cultural Center in Thailand (KCC). She highlighted the longstanding cultural relationship between Thailand and Korea. She said while K-pop and Korean dramas have enjoyed immense popularity in Thailand, the KCC is committed to showcasing Korea's traditional heritage and history to broaden the understanding of Korean culture. The KCC plans a series of events this year to promote Korea's traditional culture, including: a large-scale Hanbok fashion exhibition in May, a reinterpretation of traditional Korean dance in June, a symphony performance in August and a live major concert from Korea in October. In collaboration with the National Museum of Thailand and the National Museum of Korea, a special exhibition featuring about 100 Thai artefacts -- spanning from prehistoric times to the Rattanakosin era -- will also be held at the Korean National Museum in Seoul later this year, she said.
