Emirate telecommunication company, Etisalat has expressed interest to enter the Ethiopian market. This announcement was made in a virtual meeting between Etisalat CEO, Hatem Dowidar and the Ethiopian Minister of State for Finance, Eyob Tekalign (PhD). Hatem Dowidar disclosed that the telecom company Etisalat has keen interest to enter the Ethiopian telecom market. Etisalat is slowly becoming the gold standard for telecom operators, with their state-of-the-art facilities, having invested heavily in the telecom sector. According to a Bloomberg article in 2022, Telecom Talk suggests that Etisalat had increased its stake in Vodafone from 9.8% to 14%.
