Ethiopian Parliament to Meet Next FridayFebruary 26, 2018 - The House of People’s Representatives (HPR) of Ethiopia will hold an urgent meeting next Friday, according to Fana news. Sources told FBC that members of the parliament (MPs), who are at a month-long recess, were called for the meeting. According to the Ethiopian Constitution article 58 (4), the House of People’s Representatives shall have the power to call a meeting of the House when it is in recess. The MPs were told to report their presence as of tomorrow. The house is expected to approve the resignation of the outgoing prime minister Hailemariam Desalegn, discuss the current situation and potentially debate his replacement.
