A preliminary report from the Ethiopian Government said the pilots on the Boeing 737 Max 8 followed the recommended procedure but could not retake control of the plane. It is a significant blow for Boeing as it struggles to get the model back in service. All Max 8 planes have been grounded as the Ethiopia tragedy came less than five months after a Lion Air aircraft crashed in Indonesia, killing 189 people on board.
