The Special Assistant on Digital Communications to President Muhammadu Buhari, Bashir Ahmad has said that Ethiopian Airlines is one of the major shareholders of Nigeria Air. Ahmad who spoke on Saturday said Nigerians should expect to see more Ethiopian Airlines aircraft in Nigeria Air. It would be recalled that since the news of the Nigeria Air aircraft arriving in the country, there have been claims that it was leased from Ethiopian Airlines. Refuting the claims, Ahmad tweeted: “It is never a secret that Ethiopian Airlines is one of the major shareholders/partners in the Nigeria Air Limited projects. “Like Nigeria Air, many major airlines around the world are not owned by their governments, British Airways, which IAG owns, is an example.
