Ethiopia, UAE Agree to Work on Trade and Political Issues of Mutual InterestJuly 29, 2017 - The UAE and Ethiopia agreed to further develop bilateral relations focusing on the trade and investment sectors, as well as political issues of mutual interest. This agreement was reached during a meeting held between the two countries’ high level officials in Ethiopia. Ghazi Abdullah Salem Al Mehri, UAE Ambassador to the Republic of Ethiopia, on his part emphasized on the means of developing bilateral relations between the two friendly countries, focusing on the trade and investment sectors, as well as political issues of mutual interest. Other issues of importance were also weighed upon, including the possibility of facilitating the issuance of visas upon arrival for UAE nationals in Ethiopia for tourism and investment. The UAE Ambassador and Ethiopian Foreign Minister also discussed Ethiopia's support and nomination of the UAE concerning its membership of the International Maritime Organization Executive Council.
