Sir Mo Farah will race for the final time on the track at a major championships when he bids to defend his world 5,000 and 10,000 metres titles in London. Another two gold medals would take the four-time Olympic champion’s total of global titles to 11 and continue his unprecedented spell of long-distance domination before he turns his attention to the marathon. Farah became just the seventh man in Olympic history to achieve the illustrious 5,000m and 10,000m double, resisting a late attack from Ethiopian Dejen Gebremeskel. Helped by the slow early pace, he racked up a seventh straight global title and completed the ‘triple double’, surging past spent Kenyan Caleb Mwangangi Ndiku to take the victory.
