Ethiopia, South Sudan Sign Border Security AgreementSeptember 3, 2018 - Ethiopia and South Sudan signed joint border security agreement to stop the flow of arms and illegal businesses between the two countries, according to report on Daily Nation. The two countries inked the agreement following two-day border security meeting that ended in Gambella last week. From South Sudan side, the Governor of Boma State, Gen David Yau Yau, and from Ethiopia, Dr Gatluak Tut Khot, the President of Gambella region, signed the agreement. “There will be joint security force in the common border between the two states to clear or dismantle anti-peace elements and illegal business moving through the border areas,” the document reads. Ethiopia and South Sudan have also expressed commitment to strengthen ties on education and trade.
