Ethiopian Electric Power (EEP) announced that the Aysha Wind Farm Project, a major renewable energy initiative with a 120 MW capacity, is now 82% complete. “Efforts are ongoing to connect the remaining 40 MW, although financial challenges in recent years caused some delays in turbine installations,” Moges explained. Once completed, the Aysha project will enhance power distribution to underserved areas. Situated in a favorable wind energy location, Aysha is part of Ethiopia’s wind power expansion, alongside projects in Adama and Ashegoda. Recently, the government also partnered with Amea Power to attract private investments, aiming to generate up to 300 MW.
