Esszone dusk-to-dawn curfew to be extended for two more weeks - Nation

KOTA KINABALU: The dusk-to-dawn curfew in the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (Esszone) will be extended for two more weeks, starting from Tuesday. Sabah Police Commissioner Datuk Ramli Din said the curfew, that ends at 6pm on Monday, will be extended until Sept 27 in view of ongoing cross-border threats in Sabah's east coast. "The curfew is to also ensure the safety and well-being of Sabahans who go out to sea, and those living in the Esszone areas," added Comm Ramli. He said that those living within the affected areas are advised to remain indoors between 6pm and 6am. The sea curfew involves the waters off Tawau, Semporna, Kunak, Lahad Datu, Kinabatangan, Sandakan and Beluran.
