I wish to share my public appreciation for all the professionals involved in our Carroll County Drug Treatment Court system that assists citizen offenders in their recovery. My attendance over the years as a public official (commissioner/delegate) at the Drug Court’s graduation ceremonies, so graciously hosted by Carroll Community College, gives me peace and solace. Seeing individuals whose lives were completely consumed by the destructive vice of addiction turn their lives around is something all of us must praise and respect. For us to ignore the addict on the sidewalk does us no good and only adds to the long-term harm. Christopher Eric Bouchat, a Republican, is a state delegate representing District 5, covering Carroll and Frederick counties.
