more-inTamil Maanila Congress president G.K. Vasan on Sunday said the steps taken by the State government to control sand prices and address shortage had not yielded the desired results. Mr. Vasan said steps like taking over of sand quarries and regulation of M-sand sales had not brought down the prices. The sand imported from Malaysia through Tuticorin port also faced hurdles.
