In a statement on Tuesday, NGO council director, Stephen Cheboi said the continued planned protests may cause more harm that good in the country. The Opposition has been asked to call off weekly demos pushing for the removal of IEBC commissioners. Monday was the fourth week of protests over the electoral commission, and arguably the worst so far. Cheboi asked Cord to "seek peaceful solutions", to stop the loss of lives and destruction of property. Two of the victims died in Siaya, while another succumbed to bullet wounds in Kisumu.
