End of an era as beloved Wicklow school supplies shop closes after 35 years

Iconic Bray business is to leave Main Street premises this weekThe go-to shop for parents of school-going children in Bray, north Wicklow and even much of South County Dublin, has announced it is leaving the Wicklow town, after 35 years on the Main Street, providing school books, stationery and all the added extras as the start of the school year came around. Michael Doherty School Supplies was not just a long-standing icon at the top of Bray’s Main Street, but a font of knowledge and a wellspring of sound advice for floundering parents who queued up at the end of August with the dreaded list in hand. Once that list was left with the capable staff, they could walk away knowing it was in safe hands and be sure everything was in order come September.
