MCAs in Elgeyo Marakwet county have signed a motion to remove speaker Albert Kochei for what they term “incompetence”. They accused Kochei and Boit of incompetence in discharging their duties and also allowing a conflict of interest in the assembly affairs. Yesterday, Kochei confirmed he is aware of the motion. The MCAs will next week vote on the motions against Kochei and Boit. Kochei yesterday hit back by directing that Chepkairor step down from chairing the Finance committee of the assembly, because her husband Shadrack Chelimo is the Finance executive.
