The deceased was identified as Nur Zahan, wife of Ali Hossain. According to witnesses, Ali Hossain’s house came under attack by a herd of wild elephants around 10am. At one point, Nur Zahan found herself in front of an elephant, which then trampled her to death, said Abul Khayer, officer-in-charge of Ramu Police Station. On information, police visited the spot and recovered the body.
