Seeking reforms to curb money abuse, Zaidi said EC would continue to push for building an anti-corruption plank for electoral democracy.The recent amendments to Representation of the People Act (RP Act) have affected transparency (in political funding). Contribution reports of political parties need not mention names and addresses etc of those contributing by way of electoral bonds. Other two gave the judgement and the judgement is very fair.As regards EVM issue, I think it is closed. What more we could have done?This correspondence (on making bribery a ground for countermanding) has been going on since 2016. EC will continue to pursue this matter.As CEC and EC I did my best to ensure elections are fair and free.
