He has been piling pressure on Vice President Mike Pence, who will preside over the joint session, to intervene on his behalf. For a state's electoral college result to be thrown out, both chambers must vote in favour of the objection. A number of Republican senators have already released statements explaining why they won't support an objection to the electoral college results. I hope that our great Vice President, our great Vice President, comes through for us.
