The EC said: “EVMs will be used in a limited way and deployed Army troops will be in charge of operating the machines. Though a big amount of money has been spent to purchase the machines, in the next election after the general polls, the cost will be minimized.”Meanwhile, Chief Election Commissioner KM Nurul Huda said the Election Commission will on Monday announce whether the upcoming 11th general election will be deferred or not. Jatiya Oikya Front, a political alliance of opposition parties which includes BNP, has urged the Election Commission to defer the polls date by a month. Earlier on November 8, the CEC declared in a televised speech that the general election would be held on December 23.
