Election: How did the polls perform? New Zealand's pollsters have maintained their strong election polling record, despite plenty of skepticism about their reliance on landlines. After a volatile campaign in which some polls swung in Labour's favour - putting them ahead of National weeks out from the election - the final two TV polls were more or less bang on the election night result. Both Colmar Brunton and Reid Research's final poll put National on 46 per cent and Labour on 37 per cent days out from the election. The Stuff Poll of Polls, our aggregation of these three main public polls, finished with National on 44, Labour on 38, Greens on 8 and NZ First on 6 per cent.
