NEW DELHI: The election for the post of Vice President (VP) will be held on August 5 and the results will be announced on the same day, the Election Commission (EC) said on Thursday.The last date for filing nominations for the election is July 18, the EC added. "After consultation with Centre, EC has appointed Shamsher Sharif(Secretary General of Rajya Sabha ) as returning officer for VP polls," said N Zaidi , chief election commissioner.
