Stalls at the Ekushey Book Fair are selling a small number of books written in English, despite a fair-wide emphasis on selling Bangla books only. Many of the stalls are selling books written by Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The British Council’s stall at the fair has a few English books on display as well, but they are not for sale. All the English books being sold at the fair are written on topics related to Bangladesh. Other stalls selling English books include those of the Transparency International Bangladesh (TIB), the Liberation War Museum, the Bangladesh Bureau of Statistics, and the Asiatic Society of Bangladesh.
