Kamarudeen Ogundele, Ado EkitiA governorship aspirant in the All Progressives Congress in Ekiti State, Opeyemi Bamidele, has appealed to delegates not to allow money to influence their choice of candidate in the party’s primary. The former Commissioner for Information and Strategy in Lagos State said the larger interest of party in defeating the Peoples Democratic Party should be uppermost in the minds of the delegates. Bamidele, who described himself as the best man for the job based on his performance in political offices held in the past, urged the delegates to consider the pedigree of all aspirants and what they have achieved in the past as public officers. He disagreed with those calling on former governors not to participate in the primary, saying it was their constitutional right if they believed they were best suited to govern the state. Enjoining party leaders to ensure cohesion in the party, Bamidele promised to carry all members along if they voted for him as the APC standard bearer in the state governorship election.
