Little Eibhlin Wills was killed by the cold sore virus, treatable in adults, but potentially deadly for infants. Her parents, John and Louise Wills from Ireland, have decided to share their heartbreaking story in the hope that it will help stop other parents suffering the same fate. Nine days overdue, Eibhlin was the couple's first child, and they were thrilled to finally be a family. When she was assessed by a nurse at home later that week she was deemed a happy, healthy baby. A post-mortem revealed their daughter's rapid demise and death was caused by the Herpes Simplex Virus 1 (HSV-1), more commonly known as the cold sore virus.
