South Dunedin police station to reopen

The South Dunedin Police Station. Photo by ODTMore than a year after flood damage caused its closure, the Dunedin South police station is set to reopen to the public. The station would reopen tomorrow, Acting Otago Coastal Area Commander, Inspector Kelvin Lloyd said. "Due to extensive damage caused by the flooding in the South Dunedin area in June 2015, the police station had to be closed due to safety concerns," Insp Lloyd said. The Family Harm team, South Dunedin Neighbourhood Policing Team and the local Community Constable had been moved back into the station to join the Road Policing team, who had continued to work from the second floor.
