CAIRO – 10 July 2022: Ambassador to Valletta Khaled Anis met this week with Maltese Minister of Home Affairs, Security, Reform, and Equality Byron Camilleri, requesting the creation of legal migration channels for Egyptians. On his side, the minister said that his country looks for forwards to bringing in Egyptian skilled labor, hailing Egyptian expats in Malta for their commitment and hard work. The Egyptian ambassador and the Maltese minister similarly held consultations on regional issues of mutual interest. In a post on its official Facebook page, Egypt’s Foreign Ministry said that the two sides had welcomed the recent decree issued by Malta to cancel the public health lists to travel to Malta. That would enable Egyptian and Maltese citizens to travel to both countries, the statement further said.
