(File photo: Reuters)CAIRO - 23 November 2020: Egypt's Health Ministry said in a Sunday statement that 351 new coronavirus cases were detected, upping the total number of confirmed cases in the country to 113,027. Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 13 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 6,548. As many as 98 patients were discharged from isolation hospitals after receiving necessary medical care, taking the number of recovered cases to 101,881 so far, the spokesman said. Egypt ranks 49th among world countries in terms of recovery rates (93.2 percent), and ranks 141st in the world in terms of total infections per one million people, (1,016 infections per 1 million).
