Egypt, Nigeria agree to exchange information on mineral extraction

CAIRO – 23 November 2020: Spokesperson of the Ministry of Petroleum, Mining, and Mineral Resources stated Sunday that Minister Tarek al-Molla and his Nigerian counterpart agreed in a phone call on exchanging information on mineral extraction. In a similar context, the spokesperson added that the ministry had invited tenders for a gold mining opportunity in Egypt, and that it currently examines 11 offers by local and international companies. The spokesperson pointed out that the ministry also carries out studies to introduce the infrastructure and facilities necessary for gas-powered vehicles being promoted in Egypt, particularly new cities including the New Administrative Capital (NAC). It is noted that transforming fuel-powered vehicles into gas-powered vehicles has been an option in Egypt. Egypt's current daily production of gas is 7.6 billion cubic meters, and 44,200 barrels of liquefied gas.
