Egypt participates at 'Silencing the Guns in Africa' 14th summit


PRESS: The summits were originally planned for the end of May and were supposed to have marked one of the highlights of Ramaphosa's year-long tenure as AU chairperson. CAIRO – 6 December 2020: Egyptian Prime Minister Dr. Mostafa Madbouly, on behalf of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, will participate, through video conference, in the 14th extraordinary summit of the African Union on Silencing the Guns in Africa by 2020. The summit will commence with a minute of silence in Memory of Fallen Peacekeepers and Victims of Violence in Africa, which will be followed by a statement by the Chairperson of African Union, H.E. Cyril Ramaphosa, President of Republic of South Africa. The summit is expected to adopt a Johannesburg Declaration to “reaffirm their commitment to contributing to an Africa free of conflict and wars,” Ramaphosa’s office said in a statement.
