CAIRO - 6 December 2020: Egypt's Coptic Orthodox Church will suspend activities, services and meetings as of Monday for one month over rising coronavirus cases. In a statement on Saturday, the church said priests of each church can hold only one mass weekly with the participation of five deacons maximum. It should be noted that Egypt detected 431 new coronavirus cases, upping the number of of confirmed cases to 118,014, according to a statement released by Health Ministry. Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 18 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 6,750. The health ministry urged media outlets and social media users to verify the authenticity of any baseless information before publishing it to avoid causing confusion among citizens.
