REUTERSCAIRO - 21 February 2020: A total of 600 new coronavirus cases were detected, upping the total number of confirmed cases to 177,543, the Health Ministry said in a Saturday statement. Spokesman for the Health Ministry Khaled Megahed said 48 patients have died from the virus over the past 24 hours, raising the death toll to 10,298. Head of the Central Administration for Preventive Affairs at the Ministry of Health and Population Mohamed Abdel Fatah affirmed Sunday that no variations of COVID-19 have been detected in Egypt until present. In that context, Minister Hala Zayed told press Sunday that Egypt will receive later this month 8.6 million vaccine doses from AstraZeneca within a contract of 40 million doses as the country seeks to secure 100 million doses. The 40 million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine shall be fully delivered this year.
