The Interior Ministry announced on Friday that members of the Muslim Brotherhood terrorist group attempted to plant explosives at a security point near al-Istiqama mosque in Giza Square after the Friday Zohor prayer. Many citizens gathered behind the security cordon and on the top of the Giza Bridge in the square to watch the dismantling process. Members of the Prosecutor General’s office in Giza moved to the scene for further inspection of the site, and ordered preliminary investigations into the incident. Following the incident, Giza governorate witnessed a security alert in all its squares. The security services uncovered another IED planted in Nahda Square, which was recently opened two days ago.
