The Central Agency for Public Mobilization and Statistics (CAPMAS) announced that the total value of Egyptian exports to Nile Basin countries increased by 1.4 percent to US$ 1.22 billion in 2019 compared to $1.20 billion in 2018. The total value of imports from Nile Basin countries meanwhile fell by 4.6 percent, to $0.64 billion in 2019 compared to $0.67 billion in 2018. Sudan ranked first for Egypt’s exports increasing by 16.6 percent, with $465.5 million in 2019 compared to $399.3 million in 2018. Sudan’s imports came second, decreasing by 1.9 percent to $203.6 million in 2019 compared to $207.5 million in 2018. Animal and vegetable products, beverages and tobaccos ranked second decreasing 2.7 percent to $443.5 million in 2019, compared to $455.8 million in 2018.
