The Egyptian Education Ministry denied rumors circulated on some websites and social media about the cancellation of the e-system for high school (Thanaweya Amma) examinations, coinciding with the rejection of the new education bill, the Cabinet Media Center said on Friday. In a statement, the center added that it had contacted the Ministry of Education and Technical Education, which denied the rumor, and confirmed that there is no link between rejecting the draft education law and the e-system for high school exams. High school examinations for the current year will be conducted electronically on tablets, within school classrooms, and exam questions will measure – according to the new evaluation system – the learning skills of students away from memorization. On a similar note, the experimental examinations for high school students were conducted in April. The ministry tested through the exams the quality of networks and access to the e-exams platform via the tablet in more than one way.
