The man charged in the deaths of a Calgary woman and her five-year-old daughter has entered a plea of not guilty in court. Edward Downey, 46, faces two counts of first-degree murder in the slayings of Sara Baillie and her daughter Taliyah Marsman. His lawyer, Gavin Wolch, entered the plea on Downey's behalf and a preliminary hearing has been set for Aug. 14 to 25, 2017. This is the 46-year-old suspect in the deaths of Taliyah Marsman and her mother Sara Baillie. Police have said Downey knew Baillie and Taliyah, but have not said how.
