Stability and trust: Regina's new police chief reflects and looks to the future

For nearly 30 years, Lorilee Davies worked her way through the ranks of the Regina Police Service. She is now a trail blazer and a history maker: the first woman to become chief of any Saskatchewan police force. Davies, 54, told CBC News in a year-end interview that she never aspired to become police chief when she applied to the Regina Police Service in 1996. "What I really hope is that it opens the door for young women, young girls in our community," Davies said. Chief Lorilee Davies joined the Regina Police Service in 1996.
