EDUCATION minster Gillian Keegan has written to schools in England ordering them to make the materials used in children’s sex education available to be seen by parents, warning headteachers there can be “no ifs, no buts, no more excuses” reports The Guardian. Ms Keegan, who is the boss of Harlow MP and minister for apprenticeships and skills, Robert Halfon has said “it is vital that parents have confidence in what their children are being taught”. The decision hasn’t gone down very well with Passmores Learning Community Head, Vic Goddard. Mr Goddard said: “School’s are paying for the culture war that the DfE is trying to create around sex education. “They are unwilling to put their names to official guidance but want to stoke the fire of confrontation for leaders and their communities”.
