The ongoing brawls indicate that state attempts to revamp vocational education to prepare a workforce to fit the labour market's needs -- a significant move that will help boost the self-esteem of those in schools as a way to end school violence -- are going nowhere. The problem is more about handling youths in the education system. The 2003 amendment to the Child Protection Act directly criminalises parents whose children are involved in "altercations and attacks on other people". The 17-year-olds were students at a Bangkok school, also unidentified in official court records, but located in Bangkok's Bung Kum district. However this case should not serve as a typical example to deter irresponsible parents from raising delinquent children.
